Grant Program

The Beech Grove Education Foundation provides grants to assist teachers to carry out
innovative projects that help prepare students for life and work.  The grant program is
designed to encourage teachers to originate special programs that cannot be funded
through the regular school budget.  The grant process is a simple procedure for applicants
who seek funding assistance to implement their ideas.

The focus of the Foundation is to provide priority to programs that:

  • Provide professional development for teachers
  • Encourage students to seek post high school education through college or vocational
    training
  • Provide extra assistance for students falling behind in basic skills.
  • Provide instructional programs to schools that might not be possible through regular
    school budgets.
  • Improve communication between the school and home.

The first year to fund grants was 1997.  The Foundation unanimously voted to fund $2,500 in
projects.  Now, 11 years later, the Foundation will fund over $25,000 and is approaching a
total of $125,000 in grant projects awarded.
