History

True to a commitment that the students of Beech Grove should have the very best in
educational opportunities, in 1996, a team of community leaders founded the Beech
Grove Education Foundation.

Starting with a modest investment of $25,000, the Foundation received incentive
grants from the Indianapolis Foundation and Lilly Endowment that have enabled it to
build to $1.6 million.  The fund is permanently invested in an endowment that will
provide financial support for college scholarships and grant programs not funded
through the school corporations.

The Foundation provides financial support and management for the scholarships and
a scholarship committee annually selects the scholarship winners.

Scholarships are restricted to graduates of Beech Grove High School.  For more
information, please contact the high school guidance department.  Scholarships
administered by the Beech Grove Education Foundation include:

Beech Grove Lions Club Memorial Scholarship
Hayes Fairchild Memorial Scholarship
